Iinfluenza and ARI intensity in Bulgaria was low during week No 43 (20.10.2014 -26.10.2014). The total incidence per 10,000 population was 56.60 (during week No 42 the incidence was 51.16 ). From a total of 380 586 persons under surveillance, belonging to all age groups, a total of 2154 ARI cases have been reported (during week No 42 the cases were 1947). The incidence was highest in the age group 0-4 yrs (224.68  per 10,000 population), followed by age group of 5-14 yrs (127.08  per 10,000).

Information from National Reference Laboratory of Influenza and Acute Respiratory Infections at NCIPD: During week No 43 totally of 5 samples from suspect patients have been investigated in the NRL of Influenza and ARD by Real Time PCR. 4 positive results for type B were detected.
