Influenza and ARI intensity in Bulgaria was increased during week No 01 (04.01.2016-10.01.2016). The total incidence per 10,000 population was 116.28 (during week No 53 the incidence was 50.98). From a total of 384 309 persons under surveillance, belonging to all age groups, a total of 4464 ARI cases have been reported (during week No 53 the cases were 1957). The incidence was highest in the age group 0-4 yrs (418.59 per 10,000 population), followed by age group of 5-14 yrs (259.65 per 10,000).
Information from National Reference Laboratory of Influenza and Acute Respiratory Infections at NCIPD: During week No 01 totally of 11 samples from suspect patients have been investigated in the NRL of Influenza and ARD by Real Time PCR. 2 positive results for А(Н1N1) 2009 and 1 positive result type B were detected.
