Influenza and ARI intensity in Bulgaria was higher than medium during week No 07 (15.02.2016-21.02.2016). The total incidence per 10,000 population was 132.06 (during week No 06 the incidence was 158.74). From a total of 384 309 persons under surveillance, belonging to all age groups, a total of 5070 ARI cases have been reported (during week No 06 the cases were 6094). The incidence was highest in the age group 0-4 yrs (535.69 per 10,000 population), followed by age group of 5-14 yrs (348.06 per 10,000).
Information from National Reference Laboratory of Influenza and Acute Respiratory Infections at NCIPD: During week No 07 totally of 160 samples from suspect patients have been investigated in the NRL of Influenza and ARD by Real Time PCR. 37 positive results for А(Н1N1) 2009, 9 positive results type B and 13 positive results type A/H3N2 were detected.
