Influenza and ARI intensity in Bulgaria was higher than medium during week No 08 (22.02.2016-28.02.2016). The total incidence per 10,000 population was 119.77 (during week No 07 the incidence was 132.06). From a total of 384 309 persons under surveillance, belonging to all age groups, a total of 4598 ARI cases have been reported (during week No 07 the cases were 5070). The incidence was highest in the age group 0-4 yrs (461.51 per 10,000 population), followed by age group of 5-14 yrs (311.93 per 10,000).
Information from National Reference Laboratory of Influenza and Acute Respiratory Infections at NCIPD: During week No 08 totally of 80 samples from suspect patients have been investigated in the NRL of Influenza and ARD by Real Time PCR. 15 positive results for А(Н1N1) 2009, 6 positive results type B and 1 positive result type A/H3N2 were detected.
