Influenza and ARI intensity in Bulgaria was higher than medium during week No 11 (14.03.2016-20.03.2016). The total incidence per 10,000 population was 105.26 (during week No 10 the incidence was 108.33). From a total of 384 309 persons under surveillance, belonging to all age groups, a total of 4041 ARI cases have been reported (during week No 10 the cases were 4159). The incidence was highest in the age group 0-4 yrs (444.02 per 10,000 population), followed by age group of 5-14 yrs (303.41 per 10,000).
Information from National Reference Laboratory of Influenza and Acute Respiratory Infections at NCIPD: During week No 11 totally of 44 samples from suspect patients have been investigated in the NRL of Influenza and ARD by Real Time PCR. 5 positive results for А(Н1N1) 2009, 10 positive results type B were detected.
