Influenza and ARI intensity in Bulgaria was higher then medium during week No 45 (07.11.2016-13.11.2016). The total incidence per 10,000 population was 107.09 (during week No 44 the incidence was 114.66). From a total of 382 104 persons under surveillance, belonging to all age groups, a total of 4092 ARI cases have been reported (during week No 44 the cases were 4381). The incidence was highest in the age group 0-4 yrs (554.85 per 10,000 population), followed by age group of 5-14 yrs (298.09 per 10,000). The highest incidence has been reported in: Gabrovo (256.6) and Russe (193.03).
Information from National Reference Laboratory of Influenza and Acute Respiratory Infections at NCIPD: During week No 45 totally of 4 samples from suspect patients have been investigated in the NRL of Influenza and ARD by Real Time PCR. Positive results have not been detected.
