Influenza and ARI intensity in Bulgaria was higher then medium during week No 48 (28.11.2016-04.12.2016). The total incidence per 10,000 population was 111.88 (during week No 47 the incidence was 112.67). From a total of 382 104 persons under surveillance, belonging to all age groups, a total of 4275 ARI cases have been reported (during week No 47 the cases were 4305). The incidence was highest in the age group 0-4 yrs (531.42 per 10,000 population), followed by age group of 5-14 yrs (357.45 per 10,000).
Information from National Reference Laboratory of Influenza and Acute Respiratory Infections at NCIPD: During week No 48 totally of 9 samples from suspect patients have been investigated in the NRL of Influenza and ARD by Real Time PCR. Positive results have not been detected.
