Influenza and ARI intensity in Bulgaria was slowly increased  during week No 49 (04.12.05.2017-10.12.2017).  The total incidence per 10,000 population was 103.96 (during week No 48 the incidence was 97.70). From a total of 381 659 persons under surveillance, belonging to all age groups, a total of 3966 ARI cases have been reported (during week No 48 the cases were 3727). The incidence was highest in the age group 0-4 yrs (429.87 per 10,000 population), followed by age group of 5-14 yrs (317.68 per 10,000). 

 Information from National Reference Laboratory of Influenza and Acute Respiratory Infections at NCIPD: During week No 49 totally of 16 samples from suspect patients have been investigated in the NRL of Influenza and ARD by Real Time PCR. 1 positive result for А(Н1N1) 2009 and 3 positive results type B (Yamagata) were detected.
