In the Influenza and ARI NRL, 229 clinical samples of ARI patients were tested by Real Time PCR. There were 37 cases of influenza A(H3N2) virus, 21 cases of influenza A(H1N1)pdm09 virus and 21 cases of influenza B Victoria virus. No influenza viruses were isolated in the 149 clinical specimens examined in children under 5 years of age, but other respiratory viruses were demonstrated: respiratory syncytial virus (3), adenoviruses (23), parainfluenza viruses and other viruses(3) .

During the 2nd week (06.01.2025-12.01.2025) of 2025, the level of intensity of the epidemic process of influenza and acute respiratory diseases (ARD) is increasing in total for the country, with an overall incidence of 117.96 per 10,000 people (77.32 for the previous week). Among the total 346,739 persons of all age groups monitored, 4,090 cases of ARI were recorded in week 2 (2,681 in the previous week). The national incidence level showed an increase compared to the previous two weeks, but was below the level for the same week of the previous season. The highest incidence was in the 0-4 age group (419.62 per 10,000 population), followed by the 5-14 age group (282.19 per 10,000 population). With high values (between 95 and 99 percentile) is the incidence in the regional cities of Blagoevgrad (168.4), Veliko Tarnovo (136.52), Vidin (198.27), Dobrich (190.79), Pazardzhik (212.26), Plovdiv (157.92), Silistra (238.27), Yambol (232.83). With epidemic values above the 99th percentile is the incidence in Haskovo district (282.18).
