n the fifth week of 2025 (27.01.-02.02.2025), 6 225 cases of acute respiratory diseases and influenza were recorded among a surveillance population of 346 739 people, representing an incidence rate of 179.53 per 10 000 population. The national incidence rate decreased compared to the previous week (6 623 cases of acute respiratory diseases and influenza among a surveillance population of 346 739 people, an incidence rate of 191.01 per 10 000 population. The morbidity reached the level of the same week of the previous season. The overall incidence in all age groups also decreased compared to the previous week, especially marked in young children. The incidence by age group was: 673.88 per 10 000 population in 0-4 years; 536.91 per 10 000 population in 5-14 years.

In week 5, 313 clinical specimens of patients with ARI were simultaneously tested for influenza A/B and SARS-CoV-2 viruses by Real Time PCR in the Influenza and ARI NRL. 39 A(H1N1)pdm09 influenza viruses, 75 A(H3N2)influenza viruses, 47 influenza B/Victoria viruses and 3 SARS-CoV-2 viruses were detected.
246 clinical specimens of children up to 5 years of age were additionally tested for 8 non-influenza respiratory viruses: respiratory syncytial virus (RSV), metapneumovirus (HMPV), parainfluenza viruses (PIV) type 1/2/3, adenoviruses (AdV), rhinoviruses (RV) and bocaviruses (BoV). 12 RSV, 4 metapneumoviruses, 1 parainfluenza virus type 1, 1 parainfluenza virus type 2, 16 rhinoviruses, 6 adenoviruses and 9 bokaviruses have been demonstrated
Different combinations of influenza virus and another respiratory virus have been demonstrated in some of the samples tested, i.e. patients with mixed infections, in some cases triple infections.
