During week 01 of 2026 (December 29 - January 4, 2026), 2,301 cases of acute respiratory diseases and influenza were reported among a monitored population of 347,913 people, representing an incidence rate of 66.14 per 10,000 population. During the previous week, 2,051 cases of acute respiratory diseases and influenza were registered among a monitored population of 347,913 people, representing an incidence rate of 58.95 per 10,000 population. The incidence in the 0-4 age group is 294.84 per 10,000 population, and in the 5-14 age group it is 133.22 per 10,000 population.
During this period, 31 samples were tested at the National Reference Laboratory for Influenza and Acute Respiratory Infections. Influenza virus A/H3N2 was detected in 10 samples, and A/H1N1(2009) was detected in 2 samples. Since the beginning of this season (September 29, 2025, to January 04, 2026), 1032 samples have been tested at the NRL, of which 116 tested positive for A/H3N2 and 20 for A/H1N1(2009). The circulation of parainfluenza viruses, adenoviruses, and other respiratory viruses has been confirmed.
