Iinfluenza and ARI intensity in Bulgaria was higher than medium during week No 48 (28.11.2011 - 04.12.2011) the total incidence per 10,000 population was 104.69 (during week No 47 the incidence was 105.27 ). From a total of 380,259 persons under surveillance, belonging to all age groups, a total of 3 981 ARI cases have been reported (during week No 47 the cases were 4 003). The incidence is highest in the age group 0-4 yrs (481.54 per 10,000 population), followed by age group of 5-14 yrs (301.40 per 10,000). The highest incidence has been reported in: Lovech (225.06), Montana (228.17) and Haskovo (191.02)

During week No 48 totally of 13 samples from suspect patients have been investigated in the NRL of Influenza and ARD by Real Time PCR. Positive results have not been detected.
