Iinfluenza and ARI intensity in Bulgaria was medium during week No 50 (10.12.2012 - 16.12.2012) and the total incidence per 10,000 population was 88.03 (during week No 49 the incidence was 94.35). From a total of 381 562 persons under surveillance, belonging to all age groups, a total of 3 359 ARI cases have been reported (during week No 49 the cases were 3 600). The incidence was highest in the age group 0-4 yrs (364.29 per 10,000 population), followed by age group of 5-14 yrs (262.64 per 10,000).

During week No 50 totally of 48 samples from suspect patients have been investigated in the NRL of Influenza and ARD by Real Time PCR. Positive results have not been detected.
