Week No 49

Iinfluenza and ARI intensity in Bulgaria was increased during week No 49 (01.12.2014 -07.12.2014). The total incidence per 10,000 population was 120.02 (during week No 48 the incidence was 112.97). From a total of 384 354 persons under surveillance, belonging to all age groups, a total of 4613 ARI cases have been reported (during week No 48 the cases were 4293). The incidence was highest in the age group 0-4 yrs (557.20  per 10,000 population), followed by age group of 5-14 yrs (343.52 per 10,000). The highest incidence has been reported in: Varna (132.06), Pleven (209.55) and Sofia capital(136.53)  .

Information from National Reference Laboratory of Influenza and Acute Respiratory Infections at NCIPD: During week No 49 totally of 21 samples from suspect patients have been investigated in the NRL of Influenza and ARD by Real Time PCR. Positive results have not been detected.
