Iinfluenza and ARI intensity in Bulgaria was higher than medium during week No 11 (09.03.2015-15.03.2015). The total incidence per 10,000 population was 126.11 (during week No 10 the incidence was 96.86). From a total of 384 354 persons under surveillance, belonging to all age groups, a total of 4847 ARI cases have been reported (during week No 10 the cases were 3723). The incidence was highest in the age group 0-4 yrs (444.92 per 10,000 population), followed by age group of 5-14 yrs (319.30 per 10,000).
Information from National Reference Laboratory of Influenza and Acute Respiratory Infections at NCIPD: During week No11 totally of 22 samples from suspect patients have been investigated in the NRL of Influenza and ARD by Real Time PCR. 3 positive results for type A/H3N2 and 5 positive results for type B were detected .
