Influenza and ARI intensity in Bulgaria was low during week No 09 (29.02.2016-06.03.2016). The total incidence per 10,000 population was 65.22 (during week No 08 the incidence was 119.77). From a total of 384 309 persons under surveillance, belonging to all age groups, a total of 2504 ARI cases have been reported (during week No 08 the cases were 4598). The incidence was highest in the age group 0-4 yrs (265.46 per 10,000 population), followed by age group of 5-14 yrs (185.34 per 10,000).
Information from National Reference Laboratory of Influenza and Acute Respiratory Infections at NCIPD: During week No 09 totally of 46 samples from suspect patients have been investigated in the NRL of Influenza and ARD by Real Time PCR. 11 positive results for А(Н1N1) 2009, 6 positive results type B were detected.
