Influenza and ARI intensity in Bulgaria was higher than medium during week No 12 (21.03.2016-27.03.2016). The total incidence per 10,000 population was 102.97 (during week No 11 the incidence was 105.26). From a total of 384 309 persons under surveillance, belonging to all age groups, a total of 3953 ARI cases have been reported (during week No 11 the cases were 4041). The incidence was highest in the age group 0-4 yrs (444.02 per 10,000 population), followed by age group of 5-14 yrs (318.39 per 10,000).
Information from National Reference Laboratory of Influenza and Acute Respiratory Infections at NCIPD: During week No 12 totally of 42 samples from suspect patients have been investigated in the NRL of Influenza and ARD by Real Time PCR. 6 positive results for А(Н1N1) 2009, 7 positive results type B and 1 positive result type A/H3N2 were detected.
