Influenza and ARI intensity in Bulgaria was higher then medium during week No 44 (31.10.2016-06.11.2016). The total incidence per 10,000 population was 114.66 (during week No 43 the incidence was 67.74). From a total of 382 100 persons under surveillance, belonging to all age groups, a total of 4381 ARI cases have been reported (during week No 43 the cases were 2598). The incidence was highest in the age group 0-4 yrs (546.86 per 10,000 population), followed by age group of 5-14 yrs (328.29 per 10,000). The highest incidence has been reported in: Varna (164.63), Gabrovo (278.43), Targovishte (209.30) and Haskovo (215.68).
Information from National Reference Laboratory of Influenza and Acute Respiratory Infections at NCIPD: During week No 44 totally of 5 samples from suspect patients have been investigated in the NRL of Influenza and ARD by Real Time PCR. Positive results have not been detected.
