Influenza and ARI intensity in Bulgaria was low during week No 19 (07.05.2018-13.05.2018).  The total incidence per 10,000 population was 46.95 (during week No 18  the incidence was 44.17). From a total of 381 493 persons under surveillance, belonging to all age groups, a total of 1 791 ARI cases have been reported (during week No 18  the cases were  1 685 ). The incidence was highest in the age group 0-4 yrs (252.45 per 10,000 population), followed by age group of 5-14 yrs (120.90 per 10,000).  

 Information from National Reference Laboratory of Influenza and Acute Respiratory Infections at NCIPD: During week No 19     totally of 5 samples from suspect patients have been investigated in the NRL of Influenza and ARD by Real Time PCR. Positive results have not been detected.
