Influenza and ARI intensity in Bulgaria was increased during week No 48 (26.11.2018-02.12.2018). The total incidence per 10,000 population was 118.72 (during week No 47 the incidence was 106.72). From a total of 381 463 persons under surveillance, belonging to all age groups, a total of 4 528 ARI cases have been reported (during week No 47 the cases were 4 071). The incidence was highest in the age group 0-4 yrs (504.29 per 10,000 population), followed by age group of 5-14 yrs (328.07 per 10,000).
Information from National Reference Laboratory of Influenza and Acute Respiratory Infections at NCIPD: During week No 48 totally of 33 samples from suspect patients have been investigated in the NRL of Influenza and ARD by Real Time PCR.3 positive results for А(Н1N1) 2009 was detected and 1 positive result for subtype А/Н3N2 were detected.
