During the week No 2 (10.01.2022 - 16.01.2022) ARI and influenza intensity in Bulgaria increases compared to the previous week (03.01.2022 - 09.01.2022). The total incidence per 10,000 population was 99,07 (during week No 1 the incidence was 86,89 ). From a total of 340 374 persons under surveillance, belonging to all age groups, a total of 3 372 ARI cases have been reported (during week No 1 the cases were 3 003). The incidence was highest in the age group 0-4 yrs (323.61 per 10,000 population), followed by age group of 5-14 yrs (251.63 per 10,000 population). Surveillance data from the region of Plovdiv were not filled in, neither for the week 51 and 52(2021), nor for the week 1 and 2(2022). data from the region or Gabrovo were not filled into the system for the week 2/2022. On 13 January 2022, 4 influenza A(H3N2) viruses were isolated from clinical specimens of hospitalized patients.
