In week No. 49 of 2022 (05.12.2022- 11.12.2022), the overall incidence rate for the country was 117.10 per 10,000 (previous week was 116.19). Among the total 373,025 persons of all age groups monitored in the 49th week of 2022, 4368 cases of ARI were recorded (previous week 4334). The highest incidence was in the age group 0-4 years (562.65) followed by the age group 5-14 years (346.88). Increase in incidence was reported in all age groups.  The data on the incidence of ARI in the last week indicate that the epidemic process in the country is on the rise, markedly pronounced in the district of Plovdiv, where the incidence level is high. In other districts of the country, average levels of morbidity were observed, slightly increasing in some districts and slightly decreasing in others, in line with the indicators of the previous two weeks. In 18 districts of the country, the prevalence of ARI is within the usual seasonal range.  Influenza A/H3N2 viruses have been detected in 9 samples, A/H1N1(2009) in 1 sample. Other causative agents of respiratory infections- adenoviruses (1), respiratory syncytial (22) and other viruses have been isolated.
