In the NRL "Influenza and ARI" during the period 207 samples were tested, of which 80 were positive for influenza A [A/H3N2 - 25; A/H1N1(2009) -55] and 2 positive for influenza B/Victoria. No influenza viruses were demonstrated in 126 samples of children under 5 years of age tested, but circulation of adenoviruses, respiratory syncytial virus and other viruses was demonstrated.

Influenza and ARI intensity in Bulgaria was higher than medium during week No 4 (23.01.2023 - 29.01.2023). The total incidence per 10, 000 population decrease and was 164,31 (during the week 3 the incidence was 199,13). From a total of 373,025 persons under surveillance, belonging to all age groups, a total of 6 129 ARI cases have been reported (during the week 3 they were 7 428). The incidence is highest in the age group 0-4 ys (611.41 per 10,000 population), followed by age group of 5-19 ys old (442.96 per 10,000). The incidence, higher than the country average, has been reported in: Blagoevgrad, Varna, Vratsa, Gabrovo, Lovech, Pazardjik, Pernik, Silistra, Sliven and Yambol. Incidence with epidemic values has been reported in: Plovdiv and Sofia-region.
