Influenza and ARI intensity in Bulgaria was higher than medium during week No 7 (13.02.2023 - 19.02.2023). The total incidence per 10, 000 population decrease and was 127,74 (during the week 6 the incidence was 130,90). From a total of 373,025 persons under surveillance, belonging to all age groups, a total of 4 765 ARI cases have been reported (during the week 6 they were 4 883). The incidence is highest in the age group 0-4 ys (474.11 per 10,000 population), followed by age group of 5-19 ys old (384.08 per 10,000). The incidence, higher than the country average, has been reported in: Gabrovo, Plovdiv and Stara Zagora.
In the NRL "Influenza and ARI" during the period 76 samples were tested, of which 22 were positive for influenza A [A/H3N2 - 3; A/H1N1(2009) -17] and 2 positive for influenza B/Victoria. No influenza viruses were demonstrated in 59 samples of children under 5 years of age tested, but circulation of adenoviruses, respiratory syncytial virus and other viruses was demonstrated.
