In week 8 (20.02.2023 - 26.02.2023), the level of intensity of the epidemic process of influenza and acute respiratory diseases (ARD) was higher than the national average, with the overall incidence rate of 128.81 per 10,000 people maintained compared to the previous week (127.74 per 10,000 people for the previous week). Among the total 373,025 persons of all age groups monitored in the 8-th week of 2023, 4,805 cases of ARI were recorded (previous week
4,765 ). The highest incidence was in the age group 0-4 years (459.54) followed by the age group 5-14 years (411.38). The incidence is high in Plovdiv and Veliko Tarnovo.
In the NRL "Influenza and ARI" during the period 88 samples were tested, of which 15 were positive for influenza A [A/H3N2 - 1; A/H1N1(2009) - 14] and 12 positive for influenza B/Victoria. No influenza viruses were demonstrated in 49 samples of children under 5 years of age tested, but respiratory syncytial virus and other viruses were demonstrated to be circulating.
