For the previous week, 2,206 cases of acute respiratory diseases and influenza were registered among a monitored population of 346,569 people, representing an incidence rate of 63.65 per 10,000 population. The incidence rate in the 0-4 age group is 242.74 per 10,000 population, and in the 5-14 age group it is 129.28 per 10,000 population. The incidence rate for the country and by age group is lower than in the previous week, but is within the normal range for the season.

The national reference laboratory tested 33 samples, from which no influenza viruses were isolated. PIV (2) and other (11) respiratory viruses were isolated in samples tested from children under 5 years of age.
