During week 51 of 2025 (December 15-21, 2025), 3,915 cases of acute respiratory diseases and influenza were reported among a monitored population of 347,500 people, representing an incidence rate of 112.66 per 10,000 population. During the previous week, 3,571 cases of acute respiratory diseases and influenza were registered among a monitored population of 347,500 people, representing an incidence rate of 102.76 per 10,000 population. The incidence of influenza and acute respiratory diseases is typical for the season, increasing gradually and reaching higher levels than those for the same period of the previous year, varying significantly in different regions of the country. The incidence in the 0-4 age group is 415.88 per 10,000 population, and in the 5-14 age group it is 329.60 per 10,000 population.
During this period, 238 samples were tested at the National Reference Laboratory for Influenza and Acute Respiratory Infections. Influenza virus A/H3N2 was detected in 56 samples, and A/H1N1(2009) was detected in 6 samples. Since the beginning of this season (September 29, 2025, to December 21, 2025), 958 samples have been tested at the NRL, of which 85 tested positive for A/H3N2 and 18 for A/H1N1(2009). The circulation of parainfluenza viruses, adenoviruses, and other respiratory viruses has been confirmed.
