For the previous week (4), the number is 5200 (incidence rate 149.46 per 10,000 population). The average incidence rate for the country remains at the level of the previous week and is highest in the age groups 0-4 years (573.36 per 10,000 population), and 5-14 years (451.62 per 10,000 population).
By districts, the trend in the dynamics of morbidity shows epidemic levels for Plovdiv district and high levels for Smolyan district. At the lower limit of the high incidence zone (at or slightly above the 95th percentile) remain the following districts: Dobrich, Sliven, Targovishte, Yambol and Veliko Tarnovo (the number of new cases in the districts of Sliven, Yambol and Veliko Tarnovo is decreasing, compared to the previous week). The remaining districts report medium or low incidence.
392 clinical samples from patients with ARI were tested by Real Time PCR at the National Reference Laboratory for Influenza and ARI. 104 cases of influenza A(H3N2) virus and 22 cases of influenza A/H1N1 (2009) were confirmed. In children under 5 years of age, the following were confirmed in the 291 clinical samples tested: influenza virus A/H3N2 (80), influenza virus A/H1N1 (2009) (19), AdV (6), RSV (1), PIV (15), and other viruses (15).
