During the eighth week of 2026 (16-22.02.2026), 3,562 cases of acute respiratory diseases and influenza were registered among a monitored population of 347,913 people, representing an incidence rate of 102.38 per 10,000 population. In the previous week, 3,701 cases were registered (incidence rate of 106.38 per 10,000 population). The average incidence rate for the country and by age group decreased slightly compared to the previous week. The highest incidence rates are in the 0-4 age group (462.92 per 10,000 population) and the 5-14 age group (307.66 per 10,000 population). By region, the trend in morbidity dynamics shows that there are no regions with epidemic levels of morbidity.

During week 8, 58 clinical samples from patients with acute respiratory infections were tested using real-time PCR at the National Reference Laboratory for Influenza and Acute Respiratory Infections.
