Iinfluenza and ARI intensity in Bulgaria was slowly increased and during week No 43 (24.10.2011 - 30.10.2011) the total incidence per 10,000 population was 69,86 (during week No 42 the incidence was 71.04). From a total of 380,886 persons under surveillance, belonging to all age groups, a total of  2 661 ARI cases have been reported (during week No 42 the cases were 2 706). The incidence is highest in the age group 0-4 yrs (352.90 per 10,000 population), followed by age group of 5-14 yrs (173.81 per 10,000).

During week No 43 totally of 5 samples from suspect patients have been investigated in the NRL of Influenza and ARD by Real Time PCR. 1 positive result for type B was detected.
