Iinfluenza and ARI intensity in Bulgaria was higher than medium  during week No 49 (05.12.2011 - 11.12.2011) the total incidence per 10,000 population was 101.80 (during week No 48 the incidence was 104.69 ). From a total of 380,244 persons under surveillance, belonging to all age groups, a total of  3 871 ARI cases have been reported (during week No 48  the cases were 3 981). The incidence is highest in the age group 0-4 yrs (458.28 per 10,000 population), followed by age group of 5-14 yrs (288.77 per 10,000). The highest incidence has been reported in: Sofia-region (193.84), Haskovo (196.26) and Yambol (178.83)

During week No 49 totally of 4 samples from suspect patients have been investigated in the NRL of Influenza and ARD by Real Time PCR. Positive results have not been detected.
