Iinfluenza and ARI intensity in Bulgaria was higher than medium  during week No 50 (12.12.2011 - 18.12.2011) the total incidence per 10,000 population was 107.30 (during week No 49 the incidence was 101.80). From a total of 380,239 persons under surveillance, belonging to all age groups, a total of  4 080 ARI cases have been reported (during week No 49  the cases were 3 871). The incidence is highest in the age group 0-4 yrs (510.77 per 10,000 population), followed by age group of 5-14 yrs (306.03 per 10,000). The highest incidence has been reported in: Lovech (161.13), Montana (178.49), Pleven (184.15), Silistra (171.35), Haskovo (218.50) and Yambol (171.05)

During week No 50 totally of 9 samples from suspect patients have been investigated in the NRL of Influenza and ARD by Real Time PCR. Positive results have not been detected.
