Iinfluenza and ARI intensity in Bulgaria was higher than medium  during week No 51 (19.12.2011 - 25.12.2011) the total incidence per 10,000 population was 100.44 (during week No 50 the incidence was 107.30). From a total of 380,239 persons under surveillance, belonging to all age groups, a total of  3 819 ARI cases have been reported (during week No 50  the cases were 4 080). The incidence is highest in the age group 0-4 yrs (466.20 per 10,000 population), followed by age group of 5-14 yrs (270.59 per 10,000). The highest incidence has been reported in: Pleven (190.47), Russe (196.50) and Haskovo (268.22).

During week No 51 totally of 11 samples from suspect patients have been investigated in the NRL of Influenza and ARD by Real Time PCR. Positive results have not been detected.
