Iinfluenza and ARI intensity in Bulgaria was medium  during week No 52 (26.12.2011 - 01.01.2012) and the total incidence per 10,000 population was 72.48  (during week No 51 the incidence was 100.44 ). From a total of 380,239 persons under surveillance, belonging to all age groups, a total of  2 756  ARI cases have been reported (during week No 51  the cases were 3 819 ). The incidence is highest in the age group 0-4 yrs (371.06 per 10,000 population), followed by age group of 5-14 yrs (192.62 per 10,000). The highest incidence has been reported in: Lovech (143.22), Yambol (139.95) and Haskovo (126.58).

During week No 52 totally of 6 samples from suspect patients have been investigated in the NRL of Influenza and ARD by Real Time PCR. Positive results have not been detected.
