Iinfluenza and ARI intensity in Bulgaria was slowly increased during week No 49 (03.12.2012 - 09.12.2012) and the total incidence per 10,000 population was 94.35 (during week No 48 the incidence was 96.29). From a total of  381 562  persons under surveillance, belonging to all age groups, a total of        3 600 ARI cases have been reported (during week No 48 the cases were 3 674). The incidence was highest in the age group 0-4 yrs (409.63  per 10,000 population), followed by age group of 5-14 yrs (262.33 per 10,000). The highest incidence has been reported in: Varna (147.08), Vidin (140.87), Lovech (169.45), Silistra (171.45) and Haskovo (193.59)  .

Information from National Reference Laboratory of Influenza and Acute Respiratory Infections at NCIPD

During week No 49 totally of 18 samples from suspect patients have been investigated in the NRL of Influenza and ARD by Real Time PCR. Positive results have not been detected.
