Iinfluenza and ARI intensity in Bulgaria was medium  during week No 01 (02.01.2011 - 08.01.2012) and the total incidence per 10,000 population was 86.66  (during week No 52 the incidence was 72.48  ). From a total of 380,239 persons under surveillance, belonging to all age groups, a total of  3 295 ARI cases have been reported (during week No 52 the cases were 2 756  ). The incidence is highest in the age group 0-4 yrs (378.07 per 10,000 population), followed by age group of 5-14 yrs (189.84 per 10,000). The highest incidence has been reported in: Pleven (167.9).

During week No 01 totally of 4 samples from suspect patients have been investigated in the NRL of Influenza and ARD by Real Time PCR. Positive results have not been detected
