Iinfluenza and ARI intensity in Bulgaria has started to decrease during week No 06 (06.02.2012 - 12.02.2012) and the total incidence per 10,000 population was 147.67 (during week No 05 the incidence was 178.55). From a total of 380,239 persons under surveillance, belonging to all age groups, a total of 5 615 ARI cases have been reported (during week No 05 the cases were 6 789). The incidence was highest in the age group 0-4 yrs (483.22 per 10,000 population), followed by age group of 5-14 yrs (403.41 per 10,000). Higher incidence has been reported in 9 regions: Burgas (154.47), Vidin(156.41) Vratsa (195.75), Lovech (237.85), Montana (220.36), Pazardjik (170.32), Silistra (200.8), Sofia capital (173.67) and Haskovo (198.87). Pre-epidemic incidence has been reported in Yambol (290.27). Epidemic incidence has been reported in Shumen (235.23).

During week No 06 totally of 44 samples from suspect patients have been investigated in the NRL of Influenza and ARD by Real Time PCR. 22 positive results were detected for A/H3N2.
