Iinfluenza and ARI intensity in Bulgaria was higher than medium during week No 07 (13.02.2012 - 19.02.2012) and the total incidence per 10,000 population was 130.42 (during week No 06 the incidence was 147.67). From a total of 380,239 persons under surveillance, belonging to all age groups, a total of 4 959 ARI cases have been reported (during week No 06 the cases were 5 615). The incidence was highest in the age group 0-4 yrs (450.18 per 10,000 population), followed by age group of 5-14 yrs (345.17 per 10,000). Higher incidence has been reported in 6 regions: Vratsa (195.73), Lovech (258.31), Montana (191.71), Silistra (198.13), Shumen (179.61) and Yambol (253.98).

During week No 07 totally of 35 samples from suspect patients have been investigated in the NRL of Influenza and ARD by Real Time PCR. 26 positive results were detected for A/H3N2.
