Iinfluenza and ARI intensity in Bulgaria was medium during week No 12 (19.03.2012 - 25.03.2012) and the total incidence per 10,000 population was 81.69  (during week No 11 the incidence was 100.31). From a total of 380,239 persons under surveillance, belonging to all age groups, a total of  3 106 ARI cases have been reported (during week No11 the cases were 3 814). The incidence was highest in the age group 0-4 yrs (365.05 per 10,000 population), followed by age group of 5-14 yrs (220.97 per 10,000).  The incidence, higher than the country average, has been reported in in 3 regions:  Russe (180.46),  Dobrich (154.18) and Haskovo (151.77).

During week No 12  totally of 40  samples from suspect patients have been investigated in the NRL of Influenza and ARD by Real Time PCR. 17  positive results were detected  for A/H3N2.
