Iinfluenza and ARI intensity in Bulgaria was medium during week No 13 (26.03.2012 - 01.04.2012) and the total incidence per 10,000 population was 72.12(during week No 12 the incidence was 81.69). From a total of 380,239 persons under surveillance, belonging to all age groups, a total of  2 744 ARI cases have been reported (during week No12 the cases were 3 106). The incidence was highest in the age group 0-4 yrs (341.51 per 10,000 population), followed by age group of 5-14 yrs (196.31 per 10,000). Higher incidence has been reported in Haskovo (177.94).

During week No 13  totally of 18  samples from suspect patients have been investigated in the NRL of Influenza and ARD by Real Time PCR. 6  positive results were detected  for A/H3N2, 1 positive result for type B was detected.
