Iinfluenza and ARI intensity in Bulgaria has decreased during week No 17 (22.04.2013 - 28.04.2013) and the total incidence per 10,000 population was 50.79  (during week No 16 the incidence was 57.92). From a total of 381 562 persons under surveillance, belonging to all age groups, a total of 1938 ARI cases have been reported (during week No 16 the cases were 2 210). The incidence was highest in the age group 0-4 yrs (211.02  per 10,000 population), followed by age group of 5-14 yrs (159.42 per 10,000).

During week No 17 а total of 17 nasopharyngeal swabs from patients with acute viral infections have been investigated in the NRL of Influenza and ARI by molecular diagnostic method Real Time PCR. The 2  positive results for influenza type B were detected. .
