Iinfluenza and ARI intensity in Bulgaria was low during week No 52 (23.12.2013 - 29.12.2013) and the total incidence per 10,000 population was 34.55(during week No 51 the incidence was 98.66). From a total of 380 586 persons under surveillance, belonging to all age groups, a total of 1 315 ARI cases have been reported (during week No 51 the cases were 3 755). The incidence was highest in the age group 0-4 yrs (181.76 per 10,000 population), followed by age group of 5-14 yrs (89.02 per 10,000).

Information from National Reference Laboratory of Influenza and Acute Respiratory Infections at NCIPD: During week No 52 totally of 9 samples from suspect patients have been investigated in the NRL of Influenza and ARD by Real Time PCR. 2 positive results for А(Н1N1) 2009 were detected.
