Iinfluenza and ARI intensity in Bulgaria was medium during week No 01 (30.12.2013 - 05.01.2014) and the total incidence per 10,000 population was 66.95(during week No 52 the incidence was 34.55). From a total of 380 586 persons under surveillance, belonging to all age groups, a total of 2 548 ARI cases have been reported (during week No 52 the cases were 1 315). The incidence was highest in the age group 0-4 yrs (321.13 per 10,000 population), followed by age group of 5-14 yrs (172.82 per 10,000).

Information from National Reference Laboratory of Influenza and Acute Respiratory Infections at NCIPD: During week No 01 totally of 10 samples from suspect patients have been investigated in the NRL of Influenza and ARD by Real Time PCR. 4 positive results for А(Н1N1) 2009 was detected.
