Iinfluenza and ARI intensity in Bulgaria is very high during week No 05 (27.01.2014 - 02.02.2014). The total incidence per 10,000 population decrease and was 185.98 (during week No 04 the incidence was 235.64). From a total of 380 586 persons under surveillance, belonging to all age groups, a total of 7 078 ARI cases have been reported (during week No 04 the cases were 8 968). The incidence was highest in the age group 0-4 yrs (638.02 per 10,000 population), followed by age group of 5-14 yrs (483.47 per 10,000). The highest еpidemic incidence has been reported in: V.Tarnovo (220.67), Vidin (271.99), Vratsa (503.07), Lovech (390.82), Montana (378.81) and Plovdiv (135.85).
Information from National Reference Laboratory of Influenza and Acute Respiratory Infections at NCIPD
During week No 05 а total of 153 nasopharyngeal swabs from patients with acute viral infections have been investigated in the NRL of Influenza and ARI by molecular diagnostic method Real Time PCR. The 41 positive results for А(Н1N1)pdm09 , 2 positive results for influenza type A and 12 positive results viruses of subtype А(H3N2) were detected.
