Iinfluenza and ARI intensity in Bulgaria has decreased  during week No 14 (31.03.2014 - 06.04.2014). The total incidence per 10,000 population was 48.14 (during week No 13 the incidence was 76.91). From a total of 380 586 persons under surveillance, belonging to all age groups, a total of 1 832  ARI cases have been reported (during week No 13 the cases were 2 927). The incidence was highest in the age group 0-4 yrs (235.81 per 10,000 population), followed by age group of 5-14 yrs (111.43  per 10,000).

Information from National Reference Laboratory of Influenza and Acute Respiratory Infections at NCIPD

During week No 14  а total of 5 nasopharyngeal swabs from patients with acute viral infections have been investigated in the NRL of Influenza and ARI by molecular diagnostic method Real Time PCR. Positive results have not been detected.
