Iinfluenza and ARI intensity in Bulgaria was increased during week No 04 (19.01.2015-25.01.2015). The total incidence per 10,000 population was 172.55 (during week No 03 the incidence was 128.09). From a total of 384 354 persons under surveillance, belonging to all age groups, a total of 6632 ARI cases have been reported (during week No 03 the cases were 4923). The incidence was highest in the age group 0-4 yrs (693.860 per 10,000 population), followed by age group of 5-14 yrs (490.91 per 10,000). The highest incidence has been reported in: Burgas (237.75), Varna (236.34), Veliko Tarnovo (161.15), Vidin (187.74), Gabrovo (222.73), Dobrich (180.20), Pernik (173.17), Pleven (380.29), Russe (203.62), Razgrad (150.43), Silistra (194.77), Sliven (218.43), Stara Zagora (237.11) and Yambol (252.08).
Information from National Reference Laboratory of Influenza and Acute Respiratory Infections at NCIPD: During week No 4 totally of 96 samples from suspect patients have been investigated in the NRL of Influenza and ARD by Real Time PCR. 3 positive results for А(Н1N1) 2009, 25 positive results for type A/H3N2 and 2 positive results for type B were detected .
