Iinfluenza and ARI intensity in Bulgaria  was low during week No 18 (27.04.2015-03.05.2015).   The total incidence  per 10,000 population  decreased and was 48.21 (during week No 17 the incidence was 58.18). From a total of 384 354 persons under surveillance, belonging to all age groups, a total of 1853 ARI cases have been reported (during week No 17 the cases were 2236). The incidence was highest in the age group 0-4 yrs (218.22 per 10,000 population), followed by age group of 5-14 yrs (124.67 per 10,000).

Information from National Reference Laboratory of Influenza and Acute Respiratory Infections at NCIPD: During week No18 totally of 4 samples from suspect patients have been investigated in the NRL of Influenza and ARD by Real Time PCR.  1 positive result  for type B was detected.
