Iinfluenza and ARI intensity in Bulgaria  was low during week No 53 (28.12.2015-03.01.2016).   The total incidence  per 10,000 population was 50.98(during week No 52 the incidence was 65.69). From a total of 384 309 persons under surveillance, belonging to all age groups, a total of 1957 ARI cases have been reported (during week No 52 the cases were 2522). The incidence was highest in the age group 0-4 yrs (224.13 per 10,000 population), followed by age group of 5-14 yrs (114.55 per 10,000).

Information from National Reference Laboratory of Influenza and Acute Respiratory Infections at NCIPD: During week No 53 totally of 3 samples from suspect patients have been investigated in the NRL of Influenza and ARD by Real Time PCR.  Positive results have not been detected.
