Influenza and ARI intensity in Bulgaria was low during week No 9 (27.02.2017-05.03.2017). The total incidence per 10,000 population was 80.40 (during week No 8 the incidence was 97.72). From a total of 382 104 persons under surveillance, belonging to all age groups, a total of 3072 ARI cases have been reported (during week No 8 the cases were 3734). The incidence was highest in the age group 0-4 yrs (410.01 per 10,000 population), followed by age group of 5-14 yrs (243.49 per 10,000).
Information from National Reference Laboratory of Influenza and Acute Respiratory Infections at NCIPD: During week No 9 totally of 10 samples from suspect patients have been investigated in the NRL of Influenza and ARD by Real Time PCR.Positive results have not been detected.
