Influenza and ARI intensity in Bulgaria was low during week No 14 (03.04.2017-09.04.2017). The total incidence per 10,000 population was 66.08 (during week No 13 the incidence was 78.15). From a total of 382 104 persons under surveillance, belonging to all age groups, a total of 2 525 ARI cases have been reported (during week No 13 the cases were 2 986). The incidence was highest in the age group 0-4 yrs (345.58 per 10,000 population), followed by age group of 5-14 yrs (208.87 per 10,000).
Information from National Reference Laboratory of Influenza and Acute Respiratory Infections at NCIPD: During week No 14 totally of 16 samples from suspect patients have been investigated in the NRL of Influenza and ARD by Real Time PCR. 2 positive results for type B were detected.
